They are masters at uncovering clients’ unique aesthetic, one that embodies their individual tastes and way of life, the JWID team successfully marry form and function while incorporating the architecture of the home with the updated design. What to Expect

(1) CONCEPT DESIGN

We kick off the project by developing a detailed project scope, floor plans (working with the project architect - if applicable) and building out the spaces in greater detail to lay a strong foundation for the next steps in the design process.

(2) SCHEMATIC DESIGN

In the Schematic Design phase we develop design concepts, create layouts, gather sample materials and product selections for your review.

(3) DESIGN DEVELOPMENT

Next we work together to finalize all selection decisions to begin the proposal process. We immediately get to work to check stock and pricing on all items. We send a proposal for every item prior to ordering for our client's final sign off & approval.

(4) PURCHASING

The last phase of the design process is the purchasing and expediting phase. We work quickly to order all materials and products and schedule inspections.

(5) INSTALLATION

The installation typically takes 1-3 days - depending on the size and scope of your project. Once the installation is complete and all product has been delivered, we are ready to close out your project or move into the next phase.

We will then coordinate a time to have your project professionally photographed in order to capture the incredible end product that is your new dream home!

Frequently Asked Questions

  • The JWID team maintains ongoing communication with the contractor, and we make frequent site visits throughout the project.

  • With our years of experience, we are well skilled in estimating the amount of design time a project will take. However, there are always unpredictable aspects that turn up. Our job is to ease your tensions and create a smooth, seamless process. While challenges are inevitable in any design project, we will always present possible solutions alongside any hiccups.

  • We work diligently to handpick vendors and sources and have spent years cultivating relationships with them. We invest immense time and resources visiting trade shows each year, scouring vendor displays for their newest products. That's a long way of saying: you can trust us. We have incredibly high standards for quality and style. Custom pieces cannot be returned, but we don't think that will be a concern once you get your hands on them.

  • We present approximately two concepts for each room. We work to edit and finalize the selections with you in the quickest manner possible.

  • Our Trade vendors are manufacturers that sell exclusively to designers and other industry professionals. We as designers get exclusive pricing from these vendors and are able to pass these discounts on to our clients - typically below retail costs. This means more selection for you and a variety of unique products not available directly to consumers.

  • Many of the furnishings and products we order come from trade vendors. These vendors only ship via freight line carriers, which only deliver to receiving warehouses, because they need a loading dock for their large semi trucks. Receiving warehouses are important to the design process and act as a sort of quality control as well.

  • This is another benefit of a receiving warehouse! The furnishings we order will go there first, where they will be carefully inspected. Anything not up to par will be sent back before it ever reaches your home.

  • We love repeat clients! Once our initial project is completed, we can draw up a new proposal and contract to take on any additional areas you would like for us to work in.

  • In short: no. It's safer and much more efficient for us to complete the installation phase without you present. We know it can be difficult to stay away, but the big reveal moment will be worth it for everyone involved!
